The Blackhawk Area Council of Scouting America is inviting shooters, businesses, and community supporters to take aim at making a difference during the 2026 Sporting Clays for Scouting fundraiser, taking place September 11–12 at Camp Lowden in Oregon, Illinois. The annual event combines competitive sporting clays with networking, fellowship, and fundraising to support local Scouting programs throughout northern Illinois.

This year's event features three shooting opportunities, including a Friday afternoon flight at 1:30 p.m., Saturday morning flight at 8:00 a.m., and a Saturday afternoon flight at 12:30 p.m. New for 2026, the Saturday afternoon flight has been designated as an NSCA Registered Shoot, giving competitive shooters another opportunity to earn registered targets while supporting a worthy cause.

Participants can register as individual shooters or five-person teams, with Gold and Silver Team Sponsorships available for organizations looking to entertain clients, reward employees, or demonstrate community support. Registration includes meals, with Friday participants enjoying a steak dinner and Saturday shooters receiving a pork chop lunch.

Businesses also have numerous opportunities to increase their visibility through event sponsorships. Available sponsorships include Event Sponsor, Lunch Sponsor, Gun Sponsor, Cart Sponsor, and Station Sponsor, each offering prominent recognition through event signage, printed materials, and on-site announcements. Sponsors receive exposure to hundreds of outdoor enthusiasts, business leaders, and community supporters throughout the weekend.

The Sporting Clays for Scouting event has become one of the Blackhawk Area Council's premier fundraising events, helping provide life-changing leadership, outdoor adventure, and character development opportunities for youth throughout the region. Funds raised directly support local Scouting programs, camps, and scholarships, ensuring that more young people have access to the experiences that build confidence, leadership, and lifelong skills.

Businesses and individuals interested in participating are encouraged to register early, as sponsorship opportunities are limited. Registration forms, sponsorship information, and raffle tickets are available through the Blackhawk Area Council. Additional information can be obtained by calling (815) 397-0210, emailing bac.info@scouting.org, or visiting blackhawkscouting.org.
