The class winners from the South and North will face off at the IL State Championship at Northbrook Sports Club on Saturday night, June 13. This is an event you won't want to miss. Cheer for your favorites, banter with your rivals, and enjoy making new friends. It's always a fantastic occasion, coinciding with the ISCA membership board meeting and dinner on June 13th. Each class winner, from E through HOA, along with each concurrent, will shoot 3 sets of targets. Competitors for the zone shoot-off are selected from each zone shoot first, and then a North and South board representative may find alternates to fill any gaps in the competition. Scores are totaled for each North and South competitor to determine whether the Southern or Northern parts of Illinois excel in sporting clays target shooting. The winning side takes home the traveling trophy, with the victorious team's names engraved on this prestigious award.
The North Zone is the area North of Interstate Hwy. 74 from the East to Galesburg in the west and then Hwy 34 west to the State line, the South Zone represents the area south of that same line. Anyone can participate in the Zone events. The resident winners of these zones however are automatically entered into the Zone shoot off held at the State Championship.
