King of the Hill Sporting Clays Tournament – October 3 at Downers Grove Sportsmen’s Club

Downers Grove Sportsmen’s Club will host its King of the Hill 100-Target Sporting Clays Tournament on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the club in Morris, Illinois.
Open to all shooters, King of the Hill offers a fun and challenging 100-target course featuring 14 sporting clays stations and a variety of presentations designed to test every part of your game.
The Challenge
Competitors will face a mix of singles, report pairs and doubles, with target presentations including:
Minis
Midis
Rabbits
Battues
At the end of the day, one shooter will earn bragging rights as the King of the Hill High Overall Champion.
Awards will also be presented for High Member, along with Lewis Class awards, giving shooters throughout the field an opportunity to compete for recognition and prizes.

Shooters who register on the day of the event may participate for $150, space permitting.
A lunch-only option is available for $20.
Register Early
Pre-registration ends September 27, 2026, and entries may be limited to 56 shooters, so early registration is encouraged.

Bring Your Sporting Gun
All sporting shotguns are welcome, and sub-gauge shooters will receive a handicap, adding another interesting element to the competition.
Illinois residents participating in the event must have a valid FOID card. Shooters should also review the club’s ammunition and equipment requirements before the event.
Whether you're chasing the High Overall title, competing for a Lewis Class award or simply looking for a great day of sporting clays with fellow shooters, King of the Hill promises plenty of targets, competition and camaraderie.
